Shadow-chan (also known as Yami_jiyuu on Pharaohs Palace) is a rare species of creature, found mostly commonly in the north-eastern part of England. Chances of finding Shadow-chan are greatly increased in urban areas, most particularly after midday - though on odd occasions sightings of Shadow-chan have been reported before noon (most particularly during term-time). Approaching Shadow-chan before noon is advised against, as Shadow-chan is particularly volatile immediately after awakening and prone to snapping. After twelve is usually safe for Shadow-chan to be approached, though care must be taken as Shadow-chan sometimes suffers fits of abject curiosity and randomness.
Shadow-chan is a sarcastic, cynical creature, and idiots are warned to tread carefully in the surrounding vicinity. Friendship can be reluctantly weaned by the offering of sugar - it has been noted Shadow-chan has a particular liking for chocolate and ice-cream. Observers note Shadow-chan is most peaceful when supplied with one or the other, as well as a notebook and pen . Should a lack of sugar or writing material become apparent, Shadow-chan becomes frustrated.

Shadow-chan chooses mostly to write about Yu-Gi-Oh at the present time, expressing like towards both plot and characters. It would appear Shadow-chan is most fond of one Yami Yugi, though others - such as a Yami Bakura and Seto Kaiba - are quite close. (It should be carefully noted Shadow-chan appears to be cruellest towards those they love best.) Shadow-chan will read both yaoi and het, but it is known the creature's loves - namely Prideshipping and Darkshipping - are both of the former variety.

Shadow-chan has been known to react most unfavourably towards certain things - perhaps their greatest irk are bad spellers. Though Shadow-chan is by no means a wonderful speller particularly, the creature at least knows how to work an average spell-checker. Other dislikes include flamers, sprouts and constant liars; fears include needles, snakes and open-spaced heights. (It is advised against to approach Shadow-chan with any of the latter three.)

Under no circumstances should Shadow-chan be deprived of either fanfiction or the internet in general. On past occasions when both have occurred lives have been lost - the most notable being Shadow-chan's sanity. (Previously existing before said date, the sanity was a great loss to all who knew her.)
